Rose+Bopla Custom Build-A-Box® is a series of extrusions that can be cut to any length from stock extrusions, and assembled with dustight or watertight lids as required. This offers a quick rugged housing for today’s engineers. Originally designed to house standard VME Bus Cards/Euro Cards in our off-the-shelf pre-packaged models, the extrusions and lids in the Custom Build-A-Box® program offer engineers much greater design
possibilities.
Custom Build-A-Box® lets you decide on the size of your enclosure based on your application. First choose the profile you wish to use, then consider all the options to complete your project; length of box, type of lid, type of finish, secondary services, accessories, or the placement of PC Boards. The Build-A-Box® system allows for printed circuit boards to be inserted along the integrated guide rails. These profiles can be configured in basically two different types of designs: dustight enclosures with IP 40 protection, using sheet metal lids without a gasket; and watertight enclosures with IP 65 protection, using die-cast aluminum lids with a gasket.
Rose+Bopla stocks bare aluminum extrusion in 1-meter lengths and sells it by the meter. These profiles are available in
8 sizes. Finishing, painting, machining and other secondary
services are sold by the box. Dustight lids, watertight lids, and accessories are sold separately. Assembly hardware and gaskets are supplied as required.
Dustight lids are stamped from aluminum plate. Watertight lids are die-cast aluminum and come with a neoprene gasket that is oil and gasoline resistant. EMI/RFI shielded gaskets are available for all watertight Build-A-Box® versions by special request. Minimum order may apply. |
