The continuing trend towards smaller units in electronic engineering has caused stationary and mobile devices used in plant automation and process control to decrease in size as well. However, many applications exist requiring larger handheld
units. With dimensions of 380 x 117 x 68 mm, the BG 380 opens up many options for applications relating to machine
control, crane operations, display, as well as measurement and control instrumentation.
BG 380 is a robust 2-part polyamide enclosure consisting of a top part, and a bottom part with snap-on hooks that can be used as a stand or for hanging. Both the top and bottom pieces feature internal mounting bosses. The BG 380 has an ingress protection rating of IP 65 due to the integrated tongue and groove sealing system. The top part of the BG 380 is recessed for mounting flush membrane keypads. While the BG 380 is only offered in a closed design, 1/4 VGA displays can be built into the BG 380, which features a 290 x 100 mm front mounting area. There is ample interior space for PC boards and electro-mechanical components like emergency stop buttons, confirm keys, hand wheels, and step switches.
